Jamie Taylor, aged 27, of Tune Street, Barnsley, pleaded guilty to arson being reckless as to the endangerment of life, when he appeared at Sheffield Crown Court, on Thursday.

The arson attack happened at a property on Turner’s Close, in the village of Jump, on November 1 last year.

He renewed Taylor's bail, which includes observing an electronically monitored curfew from 8pm to 6am, residing at the same address and not entering the village of Jump, until the next hearing on November 27.

"It's a serious offence and in all probability you will be sent to prison," the judge told Taylor. "But I am not the sentencing judge and I don't make any observations that bind the sentencing judge one way or another."
