Colin Kirk, aged 48, of Doe Quarry Place, Dinnington, Rotherham, has admitted recklessly setting fire to the interior fittings of the Guiness Housing Association property on June 8, according to a Sheffield Crown Court hearing.

Andrew Bailey, defending, told the hearing on September 2 that the case was previously adjourned for psychiatric and probation reports and a further psychiatric report will be needed as it seems highly likely a medical disposal will have to be considered in this case.

Mr Bailey requested a four-week adjournment so a further psychiatric report could be prepared.

Recorder Darren Preston agreed to adjourn the case until September 30 so such a report could be prepared before sentencing. Kirk was remanded in custody.
