Some of the latest court cases to be linked to Sheffield and the region in recent days are outlined below with offenders finally being brought to justice.
A jealous man with a history of domestic abuse has been put behind bars after he held a knife to his partner’s collarbone after finding messages from men on her phone.
In another case, an Albanian man who claimed he came to the UK to make a better life for himself has been jailed after he was caught overseeing a cannabis farm at a South Yorkshire property.

5. Blain Allott
Sheffield man Blain Allott, pictured, is behind bars after he admitted both downloading and distributing online child abuse images. Allott, aged 31, of Skye Edge Road, Skye Edge, was jailed for 22 months during a hearing at Sheffield Crown Court after he admitted offences including possessing and distributing indecent images of children. Offender Benjamin White, pictured, carried out an ‘unprovoked’ knife attack in an alleyway in Swallownest stabbing his victim three times, according to a Sheffield Crown Court hearing. Ben White, formerly of Avondale Road, Rotherham, has been remanded in custody and will appear before Sheffield Crown Court on Friday 16 December to be sentenced after he admitted wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and possessing a bladed article. Armed burglar Josaf Gorol, pictured, from Rotherham, has been jailed after an attempted burglary. Sheffield Crown Court heard how Gorol, aged 24, formerly of Robert Street, in Rotherham, was sentenced to two-and-a-half years of custody after he targeted a home on Clough Road, Rotherham. Gorol pleaded guilty to aggravated burglary and to possessing a bladed article. The court heard that Gorol was caught by the occupants when they returned home and they detained him until the police arrived. Photo: SYP
Pensioner Clive Nuttall, pictured, who raped a young child may die in jail after victims finally told their stories to police. Nuttall, aged 79, formerly of Church Lane, Catcliffe, near Sheffield, was sentenced to nine years of custody after he pleaded guilty to multiple child sex abuse charges, including the rape of a child aged under 13, with the police officer who led the investigation saying there is a chance Nuttall may spend the rest of his life in prison. Nuttall pleaded guilty to 13 sexual offences including one count of rape of a child under 13, five counts of sexual assault of a child under 13, two counts of assault by penetration of a child under 13, two counts of causing a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity, and three counts of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child under 13. He was sentenced at Doncaster Crown Court to nine years of custody and was made subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order. Photo: SYP
