Smirking Sheffield shoplifter jailed after stealing £3,600 in 36 offences
“Pegg is a prolific shoplifter but I hope that his time behind bars is the wake up call that he clearly needs”
Sheffield shoplifter jailed after more than 36 offences.
A prolific Sheffield shoplifter who stole more than £3,600 worth of goods in 36 offences has been jailed for 15 months.

Nathan Pegg, 32, carried out the thefts across the city, taking everything from easter eggs and coffee, to spirits and bedding.
Police uncovered the scale of his offending through an extensive CCTV investigation, piecing together evidence from more than 30 cameras.
On each occasion, footage showed Pegg walking into a shop, selecting items and leaving without making any attempt to pay.
Pegg, of Everingham Road, Sheffield, was arrested on 24 June and appeared at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court the following day, where he pleaded guilty to the offences.
He was remanded in custody and appeared at Sheffield Crown Court on Monday, 10 August, where he was sentenced to 15 months in prison.
PC Andrews, who led the investigation, said it was unusual for a defendant to face more than 30 shoplifting charges at once.
He praised the officers who carried out the detailed CCTV enquiries which linked Pegg to the offences.
“It is not often that a defendant comes before the courts to face more than 30 charges.
“Pegg is a prolific shoplifter but I hope that his time behind bars is the wake up call that he clearly needs,” PC Andrews said.
