Shot fired on busy Sheffield street

The shooting took place last night, Friday, January 10, on Ecclesall Road, near the entrance to the cocktail bar Kettle Black, across the road from Marks & Spencer.

South Yorkshire Police confirmed this morning that a shot had been fired but said no one had been injured.

The force is yet to release any further details, including what time police were called and whether anyone has been arrested in connection with the incident.

A video shared online appears to show a scuffle at the entrance to the bar, which is open until 2am on Friday and Saturday nights, before what sounds like a gunshot can be heard.

When The Star visited the scene this morning there was no sign of any gunshot damage, and there were no police officers or police tape.
