Shoppers get crime advice

VISITORS to Sheffield’s Crystal Peaks shopping centre were asked about their main crime concerns by local police officers when they manned a community desk to make it easier for people to talk to them.

Bobbies were joined by members of the South East Community Assembly and were told that drug dealing, rowdy youths and nuisance bikers were a problem.

Shoppers were also given crime prevention and careers advice.

A police spokesman said: “These reports have now been tasked to various agencies as well as the Police Community Support Officer local to that area for enquiries and follow-up work to be completed.”

To report issues in the communities around the shopping centre call police on 0114 296 3779.
