Police issue statement after jail sentence
A serial shoplifter has been jailed after a £4,000 stealing spree on two fashionable Sheffield streets.
John Parker, aged 31, from Sheffield, of no fixed address, was jailed for 10 months at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court.

Parker pleaded guilty to seven charges of theft from shops on Ecclesall Road and Abbeydale Road, totaling over £4,000 worth of goods.
In a statement after the court case, South Yorkshire Police said: “Shoplifting is not a victimless crime, it has implications on businesses and our wider community, every stolen item chips away at jobs and services.
“We will not tolerate those who blight our city, and will continue to work with businesses to ensure those responsible are held accountable in court.”
