Shocking video shows damage at Sheffield petrol station after huge explosion wakes residents

The cash machine at Woodhouse Mill petrol station was blown up last night by thieves who fled with cash from the ATM.
An explosive device was used to blow the machine up at around 3am.

Hide AdShocked residents who heard the explosion from miles away dialled 999 to raise the alarm.
When police officers arrived they found the damaged cash machine, which was left at the scene.
The thieves involved fled in a getaway vehicle and remain on the run this afternoon.
The petrol station is cordoned off while crime scene investigation work is carried out.
In addition to the damaged shop wall where the ATM was, a petrol pump was also damaged in the early morning explosion.
