Officers carried out a Misuse of Drugs Act warrant at Mohammed Suileman’s flat on Sydney Road in Sheffield last October.

The dramatic moment Suileman’s flat was raided was caught on camera by police bodycam footage and shows officers bursting into the bedroom.

PC Liam Stewart, from Sheffield’s Proactive CID, said: “Suileman was asleep in the bedroom when officers entered the property and a second man, Adam Doyle, was found sleeping in the living room.

“Searches soon led to the discovery of a significant amount of Class A drugs in the kitchen and a viable handgun hidden inside the lining of a settee.

“Officers found drugs stashed everywhere, including heroin, MDMA and cannabis worth a street value of around £8,000.

“The firearm was identified as a semi-automatic pistol, with six rounds in the magazine.

“Both men were arrested, and after offering no comment, were charged and remanded to custody straight away.”

Suileman, 35, of Sydney Road, was charged with possession of a firearm and possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.

He was sentenced to eight years in prison at Sheffield Crown Court on April 21 after admitting knowledge of the handgun at an earlier hearing.

Doyle, 30, of Seabrook Road, who was found at Suileman’s flat during the raid, was handed a 58-week custodial sentence on the same date after admitting possession with intent to supply cannabis.
