Shock as car flips and lands on its roof after crashing into Sheffield Co-op

The Volksagen Golf overturned on Gleadless Road, Gleadless, overnight.

Firearms officers patrolling the estate were pulled over by a member of the public and informed of the The car had crashed into the metal shutters of a Co-op store before overturning. When officers arrived the occupants had fled. A man and woman were arrested at a nearby property a short time later on suspicion of driving whilst unfit through drink and drugs, possession of Class A drugs and cultivation of cannabis. Police said: “Whilst patrolling the Gleadless area of Sheffield a member of public stopped our firearms officers and told them there was a car on its roof, further on Gleadless Road.’’
