Sheffield woman Kerry Taylor due in court accused of murder

A woman is due to appear at Sheffield Crown Court accused of murder after police launched an investigation into a fatal stabbing.

Sheffield Magistrates’ Court originally heard on July 7 how Kerry Taylor, 41, of Ravenscroft Place, Richmond, Sheffield, has been charged with murder after police reported that a 55-year-old woman was stabbed to death on July 4.

The case was considered at magistrates’ court and was committed to Sheffield Crown Court for a plea, trial and preparation hearing on July 9.

South Yorkshire Police revealed officers were called to Ravenscroft Place about 10.30pm, on July 4, following reports a woman had been stabbed.

When officers arrived they discovered a 55-year-old woman inside a property with serious injuries, according to police.

Police confirmed the woman was taken to hospital but was pronounced dead shortly afterwards and a post-mortem confirmed she died of stab wounds.
