Sheffield wildlife charity issues plea for help to find stolen truck

Thieves have stolen a truck from a nature charity in Sheffield, which says the crime will have a ‘huge impact’ on its work.

Sheffield & Rotherham Wildlife Trust said its site truck was stolen yesterday, Wednesday, December 18, from its Kilnhust Ings nature reserve.

It has appealed for help to find the vehicle, which is white and emblazoned with the trust’s logo.

A spokeswoman for the charity said: “We are all saddened that our site truck was stolen from us yesterday from our Kilnhurst Ings nature reserve.

“Our Land Management team were on site carrying out vital maintenance work with volunteers when the vehicle was taken.

“As a charity this will have a huge impact as we do not have the resources to quickly replace the missing truck which is used to carry vital equipment to our nature reserves so we can continue our work to maintain and protect local wildlife habitats and species across Sheffield and Rotherham.”

Anyone with information is asked to call South Yorkshire Police on 101, quoting the crime number 14/190198/19.
