Sheffield teen drug dealer warned he could be jailed

A teenager has been warned he could face up to four and a half years in prison for dealing drugs, a court has heard.

Ramey Salem pleaded guilty to possessing heroin and cocaine with intent to supply, when he appeared at Sheffield Crown Court, on Thursday. Salem, 19, of Grimesthorpe Road, Pitsmoor, was arrested on March 28, 2018.

Rebecca Tanner, mitigating, said: "This matter goes back some time. He was only 17 at the time. I do seek a pre-sentence report."

Judge David Dixon asked prosecutor Louise Gallagher to find out what caused the "monumental delay."

He told Salem: "It is because of the delay and your age that I am prepared to adjourn for a report.

"On December 19, we will see what the appropriate sentence is for you."

Salem was given unconditional bail to return to the court for sentencing.
