Sheffield supermarket sealed off by police after man ‘stabbed in the face’

Police have taped off a Sheffield supermarket after a man was stabbed this morning.

The incident took place outside the Co-Op on Chapel Street, Woodhouse at around 6.20am.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “Police were called at 6.21am by the ambulance service with reports that a man had been stabbed.

“One man, in his 40s, has been taken to hospital for treatment for a slash wound. The injuries are not thought to be serious. Officers remain at the scene carrying out enquiries.”

The supermarket remains open.
