Sheffield street sealed off after shooting

Police in Sheffield have sealed off part of a street today following reports of a shooting.

Officers were called to Wicker Lane, near the Wicker, at 4am this morning to reports that shots had been fired.

Nobody was injured and police officers are now trying to piece together exactly what happened.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “Officers were called to an incident on Wicker Lane at around 4am this morning. Shots were believed to have been fired.

“No arrests have been made and there were no injuries sustained by anyone.

“Police are continuing with enquiries today and a section of Wicker Lane is cordoned off while officers investigate.”
