Police were called to The Wicker at 2pm, on April 10, where Kamal Abdulkadir was standing in the road, waving his arms and behaving aggressively, said prosecutor Laura Marshall.

Officers believed he was "under the influence of some sort of substance" and had to be shown a Taser before he became compliant.

A search revealed £40 in cash in his sock, along with £190 of heroin and £260 of crack hidden between his buttocks.

Abdulkadir revealed he had taken the drug "khat", claimed the other drugs were for his personal use and it was "cheaper to buy in bulk."

Ms Marshall described how he had been found with drugs on October 8, 2018.

Abdulkadir became aggressive when he was stopped and searched near the Medina Cafe, on Williams Street, Broomhill, she said.

"I'm only dealing cannabis," he told officers. "What's the f****** problem?"

He was found in possession of cannabis, crack cocaine, scales and a mobile phone. At his home, £240 of cannabis, £140 of crack cocaine and £95 of MDMA were found. Analysis of mobile phones revealed messages about selling “good coke” and hybrid strains of cannabis.

Clarkson Baptiste, mitigating, said it was "unsophisticated offending" and Abdulkadir was affected by psychosis that was compounded by his drug and alcohol use.

"The principle of totality should be applied across the offences," he said. "He was servicing a debt in relation to the previous set of offending.

"He was acting under the direction of someone else. He should be given a chance to rebuild his life and take his medication."

Abdulkadir, 25, of Exeter Way, Sheffield, pleaded guilty to possessing crack cocaine, cannabis, MDMA and heroin with intent to supply.

On Thursday, Judge Rachael Harrison told him: "You took drugs which you recognised that exacerbated your pre-existing conditions. This must be a sentence of immediate custody."

She sentenced him to 58 months in prison, and activated a suspended sentence to run at the same time.
