Sheffield Magistrates’ Court heard on February 27 how Lewis Ryan Jones, aged 28, of Motehall Way, near Manor Top, Sheffield, struck at the store on Savile Street, Sheffield, on January 22.

Mark Hughes, prosecuting, said: “There was some element of planning because the defendant wrapped the two bottles of gin, or the security tags, in tin foil however he failed to get out of the shop because staff had seen him.”
