Police have launched an investigation to find four people – two men and two women – who stole items from the PUD store in Crystal Peaks on Friday.

A member of staff at the shop, who did not wish to be identified, said: “It’s devastating for us. We think more than £200 worth of clothes has been stolen from us. We only had one person on in the shop at the time and one of the men started asking for her number to distract her and the other one started asking about prams which take a lot of effort. The group was so calculating, so manipulative – it’s sickening.”

The member of staff said she had been told that the same people have targeted other stores in the area, including Boots in Crystal Peaks. She added: “I’d like to say to the people who did this: have some morals and pay for what you want.”
