Sheffield ‘shooting’: CSI team search street and car after neighbours hear ‘loud bang’

Crime Scene Investigation officers were at the scene of an alleged shooting in Heeley last night, and a police enquiry into the incident is ongoing.

A gunshot was heard on Myrtle Road in Heeley at around 8.30pm yesterday (May 25).

Police, including a helicopter, attended the scene, where witnesses say a police cordon remains in place this morning.

One witness, who lives on Myrtle Road, said: “A dirt bike went past on the pavement and there was a really loud bang, which I assumed came from the bike’s engine.

“I was just going out to enjoy the sunset when the armed police pulled up and cordoned off the road outside my house.

“I think there were four with guns and several others without, and two or three police cars at different times.”

Ambulances were not at the scene. No injuries have been reported.

South Yorkshire Police have been contacted by the Star for more information about the incident.
