Sheffield pub’s urgent warning after customers spotted drinking in beer garden

A Sheffield pub has issued a plea to its customers to stay away from its beer garden.

The Sheaf View on Gleadless Road say police called them after someone reported people sitting and drinking in its outside area.

They say that while they are selling take away drinks, the pub is not yet open and could stand to lose its licence if people drink on its premises.

A spokesperson said: “If you are one of the people using any of the benches - please stop, I don't want to have to bar people for putting our license in danger but I will.

“You are also breaking the law if you are sitting together in groups. The CCTV will show this clearly but that is up to the police to sort out.

“Please don't make this situation more difficult for us than it already is, the more problems we have, the longer it will take for us to open.”
