Sheffield pervert caught with over 1,000 indecent images of children had ‘difficult childhood’
and live on Freeview channel 276
Richard Burns-Carr, aged 50, of Industry Road, Darnall, Sheffeld, was arrested after police found he had indecent images of youngsters on multiple electronic devices, according to a Sheffield Crown Court hearing on March 11.
Prosecuting barrister Andrew Bailey told the hearing: “On November 15, 2018, officers attended an address in Darnall to arrest the defendant and upon arresting him they searched his property and vehicle and seized a number of digital devices.”

Hide AdMr Bailey said indecent images were found across multiple devices covering a three-month period and they included 225 category A, 248 category B, and 638 category C images - with category A being the most serious.
Burns-Carr, who has no relevant previous convictions, pleaded guilty to three counts of making indecent images on the basis he had downloaded the images.
Ian West, defending, said Burns-Carr had a difficult childhood and was “knocked down” when he was 31-years-old and he has tried to commit suicide.
Mr West added Burns-Carr is a very ill man with limited mobility who lives in a disability bungalow.

Hide AdRecorder David Gordon told Burns-Carr: “We are talking about chilren here. Tormented, tortured, abused in the most terrible way.”
He added: “Anyone under the illusion that these offences involve no victim needs to think again.”
Recorder Gordon sentenced Burns-Carr to 16 months of custody suspended for two years with a rehabilitation requirement and a six-month curfew.
Burns-Carr was also placed under a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
