A pensioner was tied up in her Sheffield home in a terrifying burglary, police have revealed.

The 69-year-old was held by one of three burglars who burst into her home in Mortimer Road, Bradfield, while two accomplices ransacked the property.

They tied the OAP’s hands together when they left.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “At around 9.10am three males, believed to be in their late teens, burst into the woman’s home in Mortimer Road, Bradfield.

“One of them allegedly restrained the woman while the other two searched the property.

“It is reported that they then tied the woman up before leaving the house. She did not sustain any injuries but it is believed that they stole a television and other items.”

The culprits were white, slim and aged in their late teens.

They wore dark clothing and had their hoods up.
