Police UK figures show that they have seen more people reporting that they have been robbed over the period from December 2024 to November 2025, than anywhere else in the city
Robbery is where someone steals something from a person or place by force, or threat of force, for example threatening to beat them up them if they don’t hand valuables over. It could happen in the street or in a building, like a shop, or even in a park
We have looked at the figures for the crime, and have now used them to compile a list of the worst hot spots for becoming a victim of a robbery in the city.
In each case, the figure used in the ranking is the number of robberies per 1,000 residents in that neighbourhood. But we have also included the figure for the overall number of robberies in that neighbourhood.
The Star has taken those figures and created a gallery showing which parts of the city those figures suggest you are most likely to be robbed
The city is divided up into 70 neighbourhoods in the figures which form the basis of the rankings. The figures are based on where the robberies occurred, not where they were reported from.
The photos are for illustrative purposes only and figures do not refer to any individual buildings or streets.
Overall, Sheffield is safer in terms of robberies than many other big cities. The city as a whole saw 1.4 robberies per 1,000 resident in the same period, 792 in total. That compares with 3.1 per 1,000 (3,617) in total) in Birmingham; 2.5 (1,235) in Bristol and 2.1 (1,773) in Leeds.
