Sheffield murder suspect remains in police custody today

A man arrested over a fatal shooting in Sheffield remains in custody this morning.

The 20-year-old, who was arrested on Wednesday morning, is being quizzed over the murder of 22-year-old Jordan Thomas, from Firshill, who was gunned down in a car last month.

Jordan was the passenger in a silver Ford Mondeo which was targeted at traffic lights at the junction of Derek Dooley Way and The Parkway.

The driver of the car, a 27-year-old man, was also shot but survived the gun attack.

Mohammed Asif Yousaf, 32, of Violet Bank Road, Nether Edge, has been charged with murder and attempted murder.
