Anna Martin of Oughtibridge, who is being made redundant after UK high street chain Mothercare entered administration recently, said she was alerted by her neighbours of the incident just before 8am.
She said the thieves had smashed the passenger side of the window of her Corsa – the only car she owned – and taken the bonnet and headlights.

“We are currently going through the process with the insurance company and see if we can get a courtesy car just before Christmas,” she said.
It was reported earlier that thieves have struck on High Street, Ecclesfield overnight, stealing a bonnet, number plate and front bumper from a car, also a Corsa.
They also left a worrying message on the icy windscreen that said: ‘S2 crew again ha ha’ to link the theft to the work of a specific criminal gang.

“I would think it is linked. We were informed that there was another Corsa car being recovered in Sheffield. There’s got to be a link, surely,” she said.
Despite all the unfortunate circumstances happening before the holidays, the former nursery employee decided to remain positive about her situation.
“With everything that’s been happening, I’m just tapping into my philosophy that someone out there is going through a lot worse than me.

She said she was thankful for her family and friends who have been helping her since.
The term ‘Corsa Cannibals’ was coined as the thieves often target Vauxhall Corsas.
South Yorkshire Police have been contacted for more information.
