Sheffield man who sexually abused four boys is jailed

A Sheffield man who groomed and sexually abused four boys in Sheffield across three decades has been jailed.

Peter Jones, of Studfield Crescent, in Wisewood, abused three of his victims between 1994 and 1997, and the fourth from 2006-2018.

His crimes eventually came to light after one of his victims reported the abuse to police in 2017.

The 41-year-old was sentenced at Leeds Crown Crown Court yesterday, Friday, December 13, to 13 years and seven months imprisonment.

He previously appeared at Sheffield Crown Court on October 1, when he admitted offences of indecent assault on a male child and sexual assault on a male child.

Detective Constable Helen Barrett said: “Jones subjected his victims to sustained abuse over a period of years.

“They have been incredibly brave in coming forward and reporting what has happened to them; I’d like to praise them for their courage and resilience.

“I welcome this sentencing. I hope that knowing Jones is behind bars for a significant amount of time will help his victims to move forward.”
