Sheffield man told to expect further prison term for wounding and sending threatening messages

Appearing before Recorder Ian Harris on Tuesday, December 29, Ajay Rowding was due to be sentenced on charges of wounding with intent and sending threatening messages.

Appearing on crutches before the court via video link from Doncaster Prison, the 30-year-old, from Norfolk Park Road, was told the judge wanted him to physically appear before the court to be sentenced.

Rowding had been recalled to prison on other matters and was told by the judge: “You must expect a further custodial sentence.”

He will next appear before the court on Thursday, December 31 for sentence to be passed.

In 2013, Rowding was sentenced to nine years for terrorising a Sheffield family and threatening to cut a mother’s unborn baby from her stomach in a terrifying hour-long raid on the family home, and also threw a cup of water at the judge when he was in court.
