A Sheffield man wanted by the police after absconding from custody has been found after a city-wide search.

Ashley Gibson was wanted by South Yorkshire Police for ‘escaping lawful custody’ after absconding from the Northern General Hospital.

Gibson, aged 28, disappeared from the hospital during the morning of Monday, April 12.

His name and photograph were circulated by South Yorkshire Police in a bid to track him down.

At the weekend the force revealed that Gibson has now been located.
