A Sheffeld man has been jailed after police stopped the car he was driving and found drugs.

Tom Carey, of Norton Lane, Norton, was travelling in Dronfield when police officers pulled him over.

Derby Crown Court heard officers stopped the 23-year-old’s Volvo to carry out a routine search because there had been a number of burglaries in the town.

When they looked in the vehicle and later searched his home they found diamorphine, two lots of cathinone derivative and MDMA.

He admitted possessing the drugs with intent to supply and was sentenced to 30 months behind bars.
