Sheffield man jailed for 18 months for dealing crack cocaine, heroin and cannabis

Mahdi Ali, aged 34, was first approached outside Tesco in Spital Hill last July. The arresting officers were acting on reports that a man was dealing drugs from the location.
He was stopped and searched and 10 wraps of crack cocaine, seven wraps of heroin and a small amount of cannabis were found on him.

Hide AdAli was arrested for possession with intent to supply class A drugs and released under investigation.
Two months later, while he was still under investigation, Ali was stopped and searched at the same location.
On this occasion he was found to be in possession of £640 worth of cannabis and was remanded in custody.
Police Sergeant Ben Hall, of the Burngreave Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “This was some great work by our neighbourhood team, who worked alongside CID and Fortify to get this man remanded and put behind bars.

Hide Ad“We regularly receive intelligence about drugs supply in Burngreave and we are highly reliant on information from the public for us to take action against drug dealers.
“Please keep the reports coming in, and we will act on them.”
Ali, of no fixed address, appeared before Sheffield Crown Court on Valentine’s Day (February 14).
He pleaded guilty to two counts of possession with intent to supply class A drugs and two counts of possession with intent to supply class B drugs.
