Craig Haslingden said acid was splattered over the vehicle’s windows, lights and paintwork while it was parked outside his home in the early hours of this morning (June 22).
The acid has stripped the paint to the metal, melted any plastic trim and ruined one of the Citroen C-Crosser’s rear lights.

Hide AdMr Haslingden, who lives on Bannerdale Road, said this is the second time this has happened in 18 months, adding: “Our insurance excess is sky high from the last claim. This will require a complete re-spray so I suspect it's a write off.”
He said he ‘wasn’t sure’ why his family were being targeted as no other cars on the road had been vandalised.
A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said: "We received a call today (June 24) at 6:54am for reports of criminal damage to a vehicle on Bannerdale Road in Sheffield.
“The caller reported that a grey Citroen C-Crosser had been damaged with chemicals.
