Sheffield man charged over robbery at Co-op in Barnsley

A Sheffield man, aged 39, has been charged following a robbery at a Co-op store in Barnsley.

Gavin Pearson, of Buchanan Road in Parson Cross, has been charged with conspiracy to rob in connection with an incident at the Co-op on Keresforth Hill Road, which a man reportedly entered on July 20 and threatened staff with a needle.

Pearson has been remanded into police custody and is due to appear at Sheffield Crown Court on September 14.
