A Sheffield man has been handed a criminal behaviour order.

A Sheffield man has been given a two-year criminal behaviour order (CBO) for assault and shoplifting offences.

Lee Fletcher, aged 48, of Harvey Road, Chapeltown, appeared before Sheffield Magistrates’ Court on May 13 and pleaded guilty to offences of shoplifting and assault.

Fletcher stole multiple items from a Co-op store at Bevan Way in Burncross, and assaulted a man when making a quick exit from the store in March.

A CBO can be used by officers when dealing with people engaging in repeated anti-social behaviour or low-level crime.

The requirements of Fletcher’s CBO prohibit him from entering Tesco Express at Burncross Service Station or the Co-op on Bevan Way in Burncross.

It also prevents him from remaining on any retail or commercial premises if asked to leave by an owner or occupier or other person acting on behalf of the owner/occupier of such premises.

Police say anyone who witnesses Fletcher breaching the terms of his CBO should call 101, or call 999 if it is an emergency.
