Sheffield man and Benefits Britain’s star Travis Simpkins sentenced over dangerous driving

A Sheffield man who found brief fame on Channel 5 documentary ‘Benefits Britain: Life on the Dole’ has been found guilty of one count of dangerous driving at Sheffied Crown Court.

Travis Simpkins, 23, pleaded guilty to the charge in court today (November 5).

Sitting at Sheffield Combined Courts Centre today, Judge Peter Kelson QC disqualified Simpkins from driving for 12 months.

As well as the driving ban, Simpkins, of May Tree Lane, Waterthorpe was handed a sentence of four months suspended for two years.

Simpkins, who has harboured dreams of becoming a reality TV star, attracted attention for his appearance on the Channel 5 documentary in 2015.

He has since appeared on ITV series Judge Rinder, were his then-girlfriend accused him of spending all her money on hair dye and tracksuits and leaving her homeless.
