Usman Din invited the 15-year-old girl to his mother's home on Cullabine Road, where he plied her with something that "tasted like vodka and coke" and she felt dizzy straight afterwards, prosecutor Peter Hampton previously told Sheffield Crown Court.A second man, introduced as Din's cousin, arrived as part of what Mr Hampton said was "a preconceived plan by the defendant to sexually abuse her."She later told police she felt groggy as if she couldn't move, before both men raped her.Amanda Denton, for Din, said to the jury: "You might think if there was a plan with a sex offence in mind he would have taken her somewhere else.

"There are large amounts of references to vodka and coke in other allegations. Is that because it is the template she is relying on?"

Ms Denton said Din's cousin was not picked out in an identity parade and Din "consistently denied" forcing his alleged victim to do anything sexual without her consent.

"He describes it as a bit rushed" and he thought his "mum might walk in at any moment,"" she said.A few weeks later it is alleged the girl met Din in Fitzalan Square, where she would hang around because she was in foster care and "felt as though she had no real home to go to."Din is alleged to have dragged her down an alleyway behind the S1 Food Bar, where he punched and raped her.

"Is that really credible?" Ms Denton asked. "At the time it was a busy place with taxi ranks and buses passing through."She said Din, who has no previous convictions, claimed they kissed and cuddled but denied having sex with her. Mr Hampton also alleged Din took her to the Ibis hotel where two other men were waiting to "have illicit sexual contact with her," but "she left before anything happened."

Ms Denton asked the jury: "Where is the evidence that someone was going to commit non-consensual sexual activity with her? What did he do that was grooming?"
