Alkader Mohammed was sentenced at Sheffield Crown Court on Tuesday (14 April) after Class A drugs and thousands of pounds in cash were found at a house in Burngreave during a pre-planned police search.

On Thursday 19 March, officers executed a drugs warrant on Lopham Street following concerns from the public around drug dealing.

Once inside, they quickly detained Mohammed and thoroughly searched the property.

Officers discovered more than 200 wraps of heroin and cocaine and a large amount of uncut crack cocaine with a street value of more than £3,000.

Mohammed, of Chesterfield Road, who was also wanted on recall to prison, was later charged and pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.

In addition to the prison sentence, some £3,000 which was seized during the execution of the warrant was forfeited under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

Sergeant Ben Hall from South Yorkshire Police said: “I am pleased Alkader Mohammed has now been jailed and his ill-gotten gains have been taken from him. I hope this can reassure the local community that crimes of this nature will not go unpunished.

“We are continuing to work hard in the Burngreave area to identify anyone involved in the supply of drugs, arrest them, bring them before the courts to make the community a safer and more enjoyable place to be.”
