A 30-year-old man has died after a double shooting in Sheffield last night.
Police were called at around 9.40pm to reports of shots fired on Clough Road, close to Bramall Lane, and discovered a man with “life-threatening injuries consistent with firearms discharge.”
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A second 31-year-old man suffered minor injuries consistent with firearms discharge and was taken to hospital.
A huge cordon remains in place around St Mary's Gate this morning. A police tent and screen has been erected along a footpath next to the sports court adjacent to St Mary’s Church.
Both Kent Road and Nicholson Road in nearby Heeley have also been sealed off following a police chase early this morning.
The incidents are not connected, South Yorkshire Police has told The Star.

Police chase in Heeley not related to fatal shooting
A police chase early this morning is not related to the fatal shooting close to Bramall Lane, police have told The Star.
A Land Rover was involved in the chase and came to a stop on Kent Road after travelling up Nicholson Road with officers in pursuit.
One police officer was reportedly injured as the driver, a man, tried to escape on foot.
The Star has seen CCTV footage showing several officers subsequently restraining the suspect on the ground. More on this story shortly.
Where is the police cordon?
The cordon covers the grounds of St Mary’s Church, including a footpath adjacent to the church yard and a sports court. A police tent and screen has been erected here.
The top end of Clough Road, close to the junction with Bramall Lane, is also sealed off.
Bramall Lane is fully open with traffic flowing as normal.
The cordon also covers part of John Street and Countess Road, as well as part of a footpath on the Bramall Lane side of St Mary’s Church.

The victim of a fatal shooting near Bramall Lane last night has been named locally as 30-year-old father-of-two Khuram Javed.

Police are also investigating a shooting in Chapeltown on Friday night.
An investigation has been launched after a gun was fired in a Sheffield suburb just before midnight on Friday (April 9).

“Police were called at around 9:40pm on Saturday 10 April to reports of shots fired in Clough Road, Sheffield.
“Police attended the scene and discovered a 30-year-old man with life-threatening injuries consistent with firearms discharge.
“He was very sadly pronounced deceased at the scene.
“A second 31-year-old man suffered minor injuries consistent with firearms discharge.
“He was taken to hospital via ambulance to receive treatment.
“An investigation has been launched to find those responsible.
“Police remain at the scene and a cordon is in place whilst officers conduct their enquiries.
