Sheffield house remains sealed off as police continue Jordan Marples-Douglas murder probe

A house in Sheffield remains sealed off and under police guard today as officers continue to investigate a fatal stabbing at the property.

Jordan Marples-Douglas, aged 23, was killed in a knife attack at a property on Woodthorpe Road, Woodthorpe, on Friday, March 6.

Details on how many attackers were involved and the circumstances of the stabbing have not yet been released by South Yorkshire Police.

The force has also not yet revealed whether it was a targeted attack or random violence.

Jordan was found with multiple stab wounds and despite the efforts of paramedics could not be saved.

A post mortem examination revealed that a chest wound proved fatal.

No arrests have yet been made over the killing.

A full forensic sweep of the murder scene has been carried out and police officers are still carrying out door-to-door enquiries on the Woodthorpe estate in the hope of finding residents who may have seen or heard something which could prove vital in the hunt for the killer.

Officers are also keen to hear from residents with CCTV cameras installed at their homes and motorists with dashcams who were in the area on the night of the murder.

Detective Inspector Scott Harrison, leading the inquiry, said: “You might think it’s tiny, or insignificant, but any information you have might be vital for our investigation.
