Sheffield fraudster used stolen bank and credit cards to buy goods from shops

Darrell Andrew Mark Tomlinson, aged 32, of Weakland Crescent, Frecheville, Sheffield, used the cards at a Co-op petrol station in Sheffield and at Birley Moor News, on Birley Moor Road, Sheffield, according to a Sheffield Magistrates’ Court hearing.
Alison Goldsmith, prosecuting, told the hearing which was held at the Sheffield Crown Court building on April 15: “A dwelling house burglary had taken place and the victim was informed and her handbag and contents were stolen with other household items.

Hide Ad“Transactions had been made on a Nat West debit card and an M&S credit card which showed they were used at Birley Moor News and the Co-op petrol station on the morning the burglary occurred.”
The court heard CCTV showed the defendant using both cards to purchase items valued at £120.59 and he was identified from the footage.
Tomlinson pleaded guilty to two counts of fraud by false representation and to dishonestly undertaking or assisting in the retention of stolen goods namely a debit card and an M&S credit card from January 4.
Vanessa Saxton, defending, said Tomlinson has also appeared at a crown court hearing for a breach matter and he has been remanded in custody.

Hide AdDistrict Judge Naomi Redhouse committed Tomlinson’s magistrates’ court case to crown court for all matters to be considered at a sentencing hearing on Friday, April 17.
Tomlinson was further remanded in custody.
