Sheffield father-of-three caught with cannabis in car

A father-of-three who was caught with cannabis told a court he had been using the drug to cope with stress.

Sheffield Magistrates’ Court heard on November 28 how Liam White, aged 29, of Folds Crescent, Beauchief, was stopped by police while he was driving and admitted he had cannabis in the vehicle.

Kirsty Pearson, prosecuting, said White was stopped by police while driving and he immediately admitted he had a small quantity of “weed” in the vehicle.

White, who has previous convictions, pleaded guilty to possessing cannabis after the incident on October 9.

The dad told the court he had got a job after coming out of prison and he had been taking cannabis because he was under a lot of stress.

He was fined £100 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £32 victim surcharge.
