Sheffield father and son attacked with sticks and bricks after confronting thieves

A father and son were assaulted with bricks and sticks in Sheffield by a group of thieves they allegedly caught stealing fence panels.

The incident took place at around 5.30pm on September 11 when a group of unknown males were allegedly spotted trying to steal fence panels from a property on Glenholme Road, Woodhouse. The group was challenged by a man in his 60s and his 21-year-old son.

The group left before returning and attacking the father and son with bricks and sticks, resulting in them needing to go to hospital. South Yorkshire Police said the description of the suspects given is limited but it is believed they may have been teenagers.

One was described as younger and shorter than the rest of the group, another was described as quite tall and appeared to have been wearing grey clothing.

Witnesses or anyone with CCTV footage should call the police on 101, quoting incident number 683 of September 11.
