Sheffield drivers asked to check dashcam footage as search for missing man enters fifth day

Detectives investigating the disappearance of a 49-year-old man are asking Sheffield drivers to check their dashcam, footage following a possible sighting.

Craig Hammond went missing from the Swallownest area at 7.40am on Saturday, March 21.

He is described as being of medium build and is believed to have bandages on his left arm, although these may have been removed. He was last seen wearing a red jumper – although it is possible that he won’t still be wearing this – black jeans and maroon-coloured trainers.

A spokesman for South Yorkshire Police said: “Following a possible sighting of Craig on CCTV near the Elmwood Farm pub on the A57, we are appealing to anyone who lives in the Beighton and Woodhouse area who has CCTV to check their footage from 7am on Saturday, March 21 to 7pm on the same day.”

“We’re also appealing for dashcam footage from vehicles crossing the A57 viaduct between Swallownest and Beighton / Woodhouse between 7.30am and 9am on Saturday 21 March.

If you see anything that you think may help our investigation, however small, please do get in touch.”

Members of the public are asked to email their footage to [email protected] quoting incident number 184 of March 21 in your email.

Anyone who spots Craig is asked to call police on 101 quoting the same incident number.
