Luckily, heroic police dog Reggie tracked the driver down and found his coat, his snapped belt and then, after around ten minutes, the man himself.

The man screamed at cops to ‘arrest real criminals’ as he was arrested for dangerous driving, failing to stop and disqualified driving.

He also had no insurance and was found with a flick-knife on him.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “Maybe he'll get some earache from his wife when he gets released - she was in the passenger seat!! All in a day’s work for Reggie and Les.”
