Sheffield dad regains consciousness after having legs ‘crushed’ in horror smash

Callum Chambers, aged 30, was reportedly outside his house on Firth Park Road unloading his friends boot at around 11.30pm on Sunday when a car struck a third vehicle, crushing his legs between the two.
After being rushed to hospital, he was placed into an induced coma in the early hours of Monday morning and underwent a nine-hour surgery procedure on the injuries to his legs, arm and foot later that day. The father-of one also required skin grafts.

Hide AdCourtney Barnsley, the mother of Callum’s two-year-old son Elijah, confirmed on Tuesday afternoon he was awake and “OK”, but “very drowsy”.
Police have said all the drivers involved in the crash which lead to Callum’s injuries were accounted for on the night – and urged anyone with information to come forward.
To date, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident. Courtney said: “The road is so busy, there was always people racing on that road and speeding side by side. It’s busy anyway with parked cars.”
Police said a BMW, an Audi Quatro, a Volkswagen Golf were involved in the crash as well as three stationary vehicles.
