Sheffield dad assaulted and terrorised ex-partner in midnight break-in

Max Everret walked her to a cashpoint, where she withdrew £20 for him, after appearing in her bedroom, just after midnight, on May 15, last year, prosecutor Neil Coxon said.

Back at her home, he accused her of seeing another man and slapped her in the face.

And when she ran into a bedroom to call the police, he bloodied her nose in a scuffle, before leaving with her mobile phone.

The court heard Everett's seven year relationship turned sour after the birth of his third child, when he became "aggressive, controlling and, on occasion, violent."

A non-molestation order was granted at Sheffield Family Court, on April 17, banning him from contacting his partner or going within 100 metres of her address.

But the very next day he got in touch on social media, saying: "I will see you. Nobody's safe around you. I will show you. You won't get away with it.

"You family aren't going to get away with what you have done. Revenge is sweet."

He then sent her a picture of a timer and a text saying: "Waiting is boring."

In a statement, Everett's ex-partner said: "These incidents are getting worse and worse. I am living in fear of Max - especially after he has gone after my family. He will terrorise my life until he is stopped."

He denied breaching the order in court on April 27, but failed to attend a trial on September 5, and was convicted in his absence.

Police saw a vehicle he was associated with near his ex's address on October 13, and found him hiding in an upstairs bedroom.

The court heard he has 33 convictions for 52 offences, and was jailed for two years for wounding.

Francis Edusei, mitigating, said Everett wasn’t clear about the first order, adding: "When he was arrested they were acting as a couple without approaching the authorities.”

Everett, 27, of Lupton Road, was sentenced to a total of 18 months, for the breaches, robbery and assault, on Thursday.
