Offenders from across South Yorkshire and Sheffield are continuing to be sentenced at Sheffield crown and magistrates’ courts despite the coronavirus pandemic.

Cases here include a Sheffield University lab technician jailed for drug-dealing, a former Army Cadet Force officer who sexually abused a youngster, a knifeman, drug-dealers and burglars.

Judges have imposed a range of sentences upon the defendants - including jail in some cases - after considering any mitigating circumstances.

Two burglars have been jailed for targeting businesses during the coronavirus crisis, and in another case a thug has been jailed after he brutally attacked his ex-partner in her own home.
