A ‘depraved’ Sheffield man and woman involved in the sexual abuse of a toddler have admitted their ‘sickening’ crimes.

Ryan Walsh, aged 27, of Bowden Wood Road, Darnall, pleaded guilty to the sexual assault of a child, who was only 22 months old at the time, and producing an indecent image of a child.

His partner Kayleigh Shaw, 21, from Errington Avenue, Arbourthorne, pleaded guilty to producing an indecent image of a child, distributing an indecent image of a child and failing to protect a child from abuse.

DC Jo Bedford, of South Yorkshire Police, said their actions were ’deplorable’.

“The depraved actions of Walsh and Shaw are utterly sickening and inexcusable,” she added.

“I can only hope the child will have been of such a young age they will not be able to remember the suffering and distress endured.”

The couple are to be sentenced next week.

Walsh and Shaw were identified after detectives investigating the actions of two paedophiles, who were later jailed for more than 22 years between them, found an indecent image of a child, which had been sent by Walsh, on one of their phones.

HIV-positive Anthony Marsh, 54, of Menson Drive, Hatfield, Doncaster and Lee Davis, 40, of Rowena Road, Conisbrough, Doncaster, befriended teenage boys after befriending them on the internet.

Davis filmed himself having sex with his victims and had a library of films of his attacks hidden in his cellar.

Marsh pleaded guilty to 34 offences including possessing and distributing indecent images of children, and sexual activity with a child.

Davis admitted 20 offences including rape, sexual activity with a child and taking indecent photographs.
