Sheffield Council responds to parking concerns near in city suburb near entrance to Rother Valley
Sheffield Council has responded to concerns about parking a city suburb close to an entrance to Rother Valley Country Park.
A video of vehicles parked in a bus stop, on junctions and a roundabout in Sothall was shared with Sheffield Council and South Yorkshire Police on safety grounds.
Vehicles park on and around Rother Valley Way daily for access to Rother Valley Country Park, where there is a large car park.
Ben Brailsford, Parking Services Manager at Sheffield City Council, said: “Parking Enforcement Officers are only able to take enforcement action against parking where restrictions are in place.
“There are currently no enforceable restrictions at the bus stop, and the issue of parking at junctions and obstructing driveways can only be enforced by the police.
“We are aware of the concerns of local residents and we are reviewing what steps we can take to address them within our powers as a local authority.”
