Sheffield bus driver punched

A bus driver working in Sheffield city centre was attacked by a passenger, police have revealed.

The 48-year-old driver was working on a number 20 Mainline bus and had stopped on Arundel Gate when he was attacked.

Police said a man got onto the bus and was immediately verbally abusive.

He they pulled open the driver’s cab door before throwing punches at the driver, who escaped without any injuries.

Witnesses to the incident at around 6.20pm on Friday, October 24 should call South Yorkshire Police on 101.
