Sheffield arrest after former kickboxing champion reports ‘sick’ coffin tweet

A 30-year-old Sheffield resident has been arrested after a ‘sick’ coffin tweet was allegedly sent to the wife of a former kickboxer.

Barrington Patterson, who now campaigns about homelessness, claimed his partner Tracey was sent a tweet with a picture of a child's coffin and the message ‘for your grandchild’.

The tweet has since been deleted.

A spokeswoman for the force said: “On February 17, South Yorkshire Police arrested a 30-year-old from Sheffield on suspicion of two counts of stalking, malicious communications and breaching their Community Protection Notice (CPN).

"They have since been bailed, pending further enquiries.”

Mr Barrington, who is from Birmingham and is also known as One Eyed Baz, tweeted on Tuesday: "Thank you everyone who has supported me and the wife. Yesterday, a female who we don’t know was arrested. That’s all I can say at the moment but thank you everyone who has sent messages of support."
